FP-5 Flamingo missile developers used an actual cooking-pot lid to physically block its CRP antenna from seeing satellites during testing, Fire Point CEO Iryna Terekh says. The antenna is designed to operate under active jamming and spoofing. An engineer once forgot to remove the lid before an engine test, causing it to be sucked into the intake. The engine was shut down in time and survived. The battered lid was later turned into a 20-kg rotating “Order of the Clumsy-Handed.”
